What’s Included in an Inspection
-
Exterior House & Grounds
We start at the exterior of the home. We look at the exterior siding, doors, windows, decks and balconies, driveways and walks, and grading. This is a full overview of the outside of the home.
-
Roofing, Attic, and Ventilation
We walk the roof and enter the attic, looking for issues with the roof coverings, chimneys or flues, gutters, attic vents, roof structure, and even insulation.
-
Foundation, Basement and Crawlspace
This is whatever is below the home. Concrete foundation walls, crawlspace elements, and basement floors. This also includes columns, piers, and floor structure.
-
Plumbing
Plumbing is very straightforward. We test every water fixture in the home looking for leaks. We run showers, test toilets and give an overview of the water heater. But plumbing also includes gas lines which are tested as well.
-
Electrical
From the main panel to every electrical outlet, we try to test all the electrical elements of a home. This includes light fixtures, switches, GFCI outlets, and smoke/CO detectors.
-
Heating Systems
We operate all the heating systems in a home during our inspections. This includes furnaces, boilers and fireplaces. We will also analyze thermostats and heat distribution systems.
-
Cooling Systems
We visually inspect and operate the home's cooling systems. This includes central air conditioning, split systems, and whole house fans.
-
Interior
Our interior category contains the cosmetic and visual issues found during a home inspection. This includes the wall and floor condition, door and window operation, counters and cabinets, and operation of venting systems.
